Capturing Joy at Valle Verde's Roaring ’20s Senior Prom
As the filmmaker and editor for Valle Verde Retirement Community’s second annual “Senior” Prom 2016, I was tasked with documenting an unforgettable evening where vintage glamour met heartfelt celebration.
Themed The Roaring ’20s, the event brought together 75 residents from assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. Guests dressed in flapper fashion and Gatsby-inspired suits, dancing to live Dixieland, blues, and swing music performed by Jazz Plus—a band of talented senior musicians.
I handled the full production process, from filming candid moments and choreographed dances to editing the footage into a highlight reel that reflects the spirit of the night. The final video captures the joy, elegance, and emotional connections that made the event so meaningful.
